MIRPURKHAS: Changes in DPSC setup opposed

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, May 1: The District Public Safety Commission, at a meeting held here on Friday, unanimously passed a resolution, opposing the changes in the safety commission system.

The participants of the meeting said that with induction of MNAs and MPAs in the DPSCs, the commissions would fall prey to political influence due to which people would not get relief through them.

The meeting, presided over by DPSC chairman Pir Abdul Rehman Jan Sarhandi, also took notice of increasing cases of theft and other crimes in the district and demanded of the police to take strict action against criminals.

The DPSC members also urged police to take measures to improve traffic system at Market Chowk and Municipal Complex Chowk.

They also urged the Taluka Municipal Administration to remove encroachments.

ASP Ali Malik Javed, who was present at the meeting, assured the commission of action against thieves and other criminals and sought cooperation of elected representatives and residents in this regard.

Mr Sarhandi asked the members to furnish reports on the action taken on the complaints of the people within 15 days.

The secretary of the commission, Aijazul Hassan Siddiqui, said that the DPSC had received 79 complaints so far and 40 of them had been disposed off.

NAZIM: Mirpurkhas Taluka Nazim Syed Inayat Ali Shah has claimed that the district nazim has only seized the power of purchasing exercised by the taluka municipal administration and not his powers.
