RAWALPINDI, April 28: Three people were killed in separate incidents in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, police said. In the first incident, a 20-year-old man was shot dead by his rivals in Westridge.

Police said Khani Zaman, a Suzuki van driver, had a brawl with Wasim, Shakeel and Zaheer over picking of passengers on Tuesday. The matter was resolved by those present at the wagon stand on the occasion.

However, when Mr Zaman came to the wagon stand on Wednesday, his opponents allegedly shot him dead and escaped. In the second incident, Nazakat Hussain, a salesman, was shot dead by some unidentified persons in Chaklala Scheme-III.

The man was on his way to his shop when some unknown people, who according to police were travelling in a taxi, targeted the man and escaped. Meanwhile, Mohammad Qasim, who had been shot and injured by unidentified persons outside his house in the Saddar Barooni area, died in hospital on Wednesday.

BODY FOUND: The Westridge police found the body of a man at a deserted place in Habib Colony on Wednesday. Iqbal Khan, the elder brother of the deceased, told the police that his brother, Abdul Majeed, who ran an auto spare parts shop, was found dead at a vacant plot in the morning. He had been shot dead by unidentified persons.
