KARACHI: Labourer commits suicide

KARACHI, April 24: A labourer apparently hanged himself in an under-construction building in Korangi on Saturday. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. They believed the man had hanged himself in small hours. The body was noticed by other labourers, the police said.

The labourer, Faquir Hussain, 22, was working in the building near Chamra Chowrangi, Korangi. The police could not ascertain the circumstances, that led the labourer to commit suicide.

BODY FOUND: The decomposed body of an infant girl was found at an isolated place near the Native Jetty bridge in Jackson police limits on Saturday.

The police said that the body, which had been damaged by animals, was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy. The police believed that the girl got drowned and her body landed at an isolated place.

ROBBERIES: Two robberies were reported to the police in different parts of the city.

Four bandits stormed into the house of Abdul Qayyum in Gulberg, made the family hostage at gunpoint, collected jewellry, cash and valuables and fled.

Four dacoits entered the house of Gul Sher Khan in Surjani Town, held the inmates hostage at gunpoint, collected cash, jewellery and valuables and escaped.
