Petrol price raised by 80 paisa

KARACHI, April 15: The Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC) on Thursday increased the price of petrol by 80 paisa to Rs35.37 from Rs34.57 per litre, besides raising prices of other products by 57 paisa to Rs1.07 per litre.

Pakistan State Oil and Shell Pakistan Limited also raised the price of diesel by 58 paisa to Rs24.02 from Rs23.44 per litre. The price of high octane blending component (HOBC) has been raised to Rs39.39 from Rs38.32 per litre, up by 2.79 per cent, while the new ex-depot fixed sale price of kerosene oil has been fixed at Rs23 from Rs21.98 per litre, showing a rise of 4.64 per cent.

The new price of light diesel oil was increased to Rs20.02 from Rs19.45 per litre, up by 2.93 per cent. The new prices will be effective from April 16 to 30. The committee in a statement said that the rising trend in the international market of crude oil and petroleum products prices continued during the last fortnight.

Consequently, motor spirit price increased by 2.31 per cent as naphtha price escalated by $7.20 per ton. Kerosene and naphtha average prices touched $35.34 per barrel and $310.78 per ton, respectively, in the Arab Gulf market. The OCAC did not mention the previous prices of the products on which the domestic prices has been increased.
