KASUR, April 15: A man and his daughter were killed when the roof of their mud house caved in at Ladi village on Thursday. Police said Munir Ahmad was sleeping along with his family in a room when the incident took place and the family was trapped under the rubble.

Their neighbours rushed to their rescue and pulled them out of the debris. Munir and his daughter Shamaila, 7, had died while his wife Sakina and son Rafiq sustained injuries. The injured were taken to a rural health centre where their condition was stated to be stable.

ACCIDENT: A conductor was killed while eight passengers, including three women, were injured when a wagon overturned at Chunian bypass. According to police, the wagon was on its way to Pattoki from Lahore when the accident took place.

Wagon conductor Jabbar Ahmad died on the spot while Ms Sharifan, Ms Sardaran, Ms Hanifan, Ajmal, Ramzan alias Jani, Khurshid Shah, Nazir and Mushtaq suffered injuries. The injured were rushed to the Chunian THQ Hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

ROBBERY: Fifteen armed men took away Rs54,000 in cash and electronic goods worth thousands of rupees from a factory in Chak 65, Raiwind Saddar.
