JUI-F workers take out procession

By Our Correspondent

SUKKUR, April 12: Hundreds of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) workers took out a procession here on Monday after inclusion of the names of 22 JUI-F activists, including Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, in the list of suspects terrorists.

Led by Maulana Abdul Haq Mahar, the procession started from Madressa Manzil Gah and, passing through different roads, reached the press club where the participants staged a sit-in for an hour.

The protestors were carrying placards, inscribed with slogans against the Sindh government and in favor of JUI-F provincial secretary- general Dr Soomro. Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Mahar said that the Sindh government had included the names of party workers in the list at the behest of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Terming Altaf Hussain an agent of the imperialists, he said that after resuming power, the MQM leaders had lost senses. Saying that the JUI-F workers would bravely face the situation, he said that they did not fear the USA, the biggest terrorist of the world, so how could they be intimidated by its agents.

He warned that if the allegation against the JUI workers was not withdrawn, they would launch protest against the government throughout Sindh and also stage sit-ins outside the chief minister and governor houses.

INQUIRIES: Investigations will be conducted against the city surveyor, assistant Mukhtiarkar, Tapedar and others on the charges of making a fake registry of a house and accepting bribe.

District Naib Nazim Iqbal Dawood Pakwala stated this in a press statement issued here on Monday after receiving complaints from some small traders and residents.

A complainant alleged that city surveyor Abdul Salaam, assistant Mukhtiarkar Wazir Ali Behan, Tapedar Ali Bukhsh Mahar and others demanded and received thousands of rupees for issuing Deh forms, fee for which was only Rs1.
