Confectionery plant

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, April 8: A Lebanese business group is considering setting up a confectionery plant either in India or Pakistan to cater to the needs of South Asian and Central Asian markets. This was stated by Gandour Group's Hiab Badawi at a meeting with the LCCI office-bearers on Thursday. Mr Badawi said he was here to study the market and the possibility of setting up the confectionery plant in Lahore.

He said with Lahore being the distribution hub would provide a perfect platform to capitalize the market potential, expanding business from South Asia to Central Asia. He was invited by the LCCI office-bearers to set up his plant in the proposed Sundar industrial zone to have an easy access not only to Saarc member states but also to Central Asian states.
