SUKKUR, April 7: The Sindh High Court Bar Association, Sukkur, on Wednesday welcomed the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, allowing Mian Shahbaz Sharif to return to the country.
The bar association through a resolution called upon the government to implement the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in letter and spirit.
The resolution demanded that Benazir Bhutto should be allowed to return to her home, relying on the rule of consistency. The bar also demanded that the government should release Asif Ali Zardari and Jawed Hashmi.
Killed: A peasant was gunned down by armed men over a land dispute in Kot Mian Mitho village, Ghotki district on Tuesday. Some armed men entered the village and opened indiscriminate firing as a result Ali Nawaz Mochi was killed on the spot.
The armed men of former MNA Mian Mithoo rushed to the spot and fired upon the attackers but they fled. A heavy contingent of the police also reached the scene. Mian Farooq, son of Mian Mithoo, told the newsmen that they had purchased 200 acres land in Deh Gongo Deho from Chaudhary Zahid Rehman.
He said Juno and Samejo groups claimed their ownership on the land. He said in this connection a Jirga was held under the presidentship of Mustafa Abro but the parties refused to accept its verdict. An FIR (52/2004) against Allah Wassayo, Haq Nawaz, Shahnawaz Samejo and others was registered at the Ubauro police station.
