KARACHI, April 5: The acting president of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Qazi Hussain Ahmed, met the chief of Jamiat Ulema-i- Pakistan, Prof. Shah Faridul Haq, in his residence here on Monday.
A Jamat-i-Islami statement said the leaders discussed the overall situation in the country as well as the Wana operation and the National Security Council bill. It stated they also discussed the public contact campaign of the MMA commencing on April 8. Matters pertaining to the MMA also came up for discussion on the occasion, it was further pointed out.
The Supreme Council of the MMA is scheduled to meet here at Idaqa Noor-i-Haq on April 8. Meanwhile, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, who is also the Amir of Jamat-i- Islami Pakistan, inquired about the welfare of Shah Faridul Haq and congratulated him on assuming the presidentship of Jamiat-i-Ulema-i- Pakistan. It was also resolved that the alliance of the religious parties would continue. -APP
