KARACHI, April 5: A young man was beaten to death by unknown men, and his body was recovered in Malir on Monday. Mohammad Iqbal, 30, was kidnapped by some unknown persons in Gharibabad a few days back.
The victim was badly tortured to death, and his body was dumped in the limits of Malir City police at a derelict place. On Monday morning, someone informed the police, about the presence of a body. Police shifted the body to the JPMC.
According to victim's family, the killing was a result of a monetary dispute between Iqbal and one Ismail Kutchi. The family also nominated the suspect in the FIR.
KILLED: Unknown persons killed a young man in Lyari late Sunday night. Irshad, 26, was sitting outside his house in Street-11 when unknown persons riding a motorcycle shot and killed him. The police could not immediately ascertain the motive behind the killing.
CRUSHED: An unknown man was crushed by a locomotive near Landhi railway station. The victim was trying to cross the tracks when the train hit him. He died instantaneously.
FIRE: A fire broke out in a cotton godown in Korangi late Monday night. No loss of life was reported in the fire. The cause and extent of the damage could not be ascertained.
KIDNAPPED: Unknown men allegedly kidnapped a constable in Gulbahar on Sunday. The Gulbahar police have registered an FIR on the complaint of victim's nephew, Mohammad Ali, who stated that Fareed Solangi, posted at the Sindh Reserve Police (Korangi Base), had come to Golimar's Peetal Gali from where he was kidnapped by unknown persons.
Police said so far two phone calls have been made by Fareed from different PCOs in which informed informed his relatives thathe had been kept at a place near Khajji ground and the kidnappers are demanding Rs1,000,000.
In the second call, Fareed told his nephew that his kidnappers have shifted him to some place near Mewashah graveyard and now they are demanding Rs10,000. Police suspect some foul-play on the part of the constable.
