JACOBABAD, April 4: Sindh Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Manzoor Panhwar has said that a healthcare centre is being established here to combat gastro-intestinal diseases caused by consumption of contaminated water.
Talking to journalists here on Saturday, Mr Panhwar said that the people would get better health cover with the establishment of the medical centre with the assistance of USA and Canada.
He also said that an engineering university would be established in Jacobabad with the assistance of Princeton University. He added that 10 acres of land had been allotted in this regard.
Mr Panhwar said that a master plan for a scheme of supply of potable water to the city was on the anvil, which would be carried out under the supervision of the chief secretary of Sindh. The minister said that Rs500,000 would soon be released for Jacobabad by Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar.
