KASUR, April 2: The district government will launch a police-friendly campaign to check crime rate and restore public confidence on police.

MNAs, MPAs, Nazims of district, tehsil and union councils and representatives of social welfare organizations will also participate in the drive. This was given out by district Nazim Rana Imtiaz Ahmad Khan while speaking at the opening ceremony of the newly-built conference room at the district police office.

He called upon the police officers to bring favourable change in the attitude of lower staff so that the people could approach police stations for the redressal of their problems without any fear.

He extended his thanks to the district government, Tanneries Association and Building department for their generous cooperation in the construction and equipping the conference room with latest facilities.

Later, the district Nazim and tehsil Nazim announced Rs0.5 million grant each while MPAs announced Rs1 million grant for the construction of roads in Kasur Police Lines.

MPAs Ilyas Khan, Chaudhry Sibghatullah and Shaukat Dogar, district Naib Nazim Mian Sana Khaliq, tehsil Nazim Malik Rasheed Khan, ASP Shahzada Sultan, public safety commission members, SDPO and Nazims of various union councils were also present on the occasion.
