RAWALPINDI, March 31: A Russian business delegation called on President General Pervez Musharraf here Wednesday and expressed its readiness to help in the expansion of Pakistan Steel Mills.

The Russian delegation, led by president of Tyazhpromexprt Nikolay V. Ulyanon, was of the view that expansion of the Pakistan Steel would increase its efficiency, optimise the production capacity and increase profitability.

President Pervez Musharraf appreciated the gesture, saying their proposal would be sent to the consultants of Pakistan Steel for further study. uring the meeting, prospects and opportunities for enhancing trade and commercial relations between the two countries came under discussion.

The Russian delegation appreciated the investment opportunities because of prudent economic policies of the government have created a business-friendly atmosphere.

The President also referred to his visit to the Russian Federation and said Pakistan was keen to enhance bilateral relations in different fields. Chairman of Pakistan Steel, Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum Khan and deputy chairman of the Planning Commission Akram Sheikh also attended the meeting. -APP
