NOWSHERA, March 30: Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) Senator Maulana Samiul Haq has said that differences existed among the component parties of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.
Speaking at a press conference after holding talks with Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Haq at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak on Monday, Maulana Samiul Haq said that because of indifferent policies of Jamaat-i-Islami and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) towards smaller parties of the MMA, the six-party alliance had turned into a two-party affair.
The leadership of the two major parties had failed to iron out differences in the alliance which had strained relations among its partners, he said, adding that one (Qazi Hussain) was busy organizing mass marriages, while the other (Maulana Fazlur Rehman) was enjoying his trip to Western countries.
Maulana Samiul Haq said the two leaders were bent upon destroying the alliance as they had failed to satisfy smaller partners on the issue of distribution and allocation of resources on equal basis.
He, however, reiterated that the JUI-S would continue to make efforts to keep the alliance intact. MNA Maulana Hamidul Haq, the son of Maulana Samiul Haq, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Haq and other leaders of JUI-S were also present at the press conference.
