RAWALPINDI: Teachers plan protest from April 17

BY Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, March 30: Ittehad-i-Assataza Pakistan (IAP) has announced that it will once again launch a protest movement from April 17 to press the government for acceptance of its demands , IAP president Prof Zulfiqar Haider Malik said.

The decision was taken in a meeting of IAP representatives. The meeting was informed that the movement would intensify in the course of time depending on the response of the government.

Teachers' leaders believe the government is not serious in solving some of their pressing problems. "For the last several years, we have been requesting the education authorities to meet our demands but the government has been unresponsive," said Mr Malik.
