HYDERABAD, March 27: The Government Secondary Teachers Association has decided to continue protest movement against the Sindh government until its demands are met.

Prominent among the demands are job quota for offspring of the teachers and appointments on permanent basis.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the central executive committee of the association held here on Friday and presided over by GSTA president Abdul Ghani Kumbhar.

The meeting resolved to boycott secondary school certificate practical examinations and assessment of answer copies as well as election duties.

It also resolved to hold a meeting in Nawabshah on April 6 to chalk out the future course of action.

ENCROACHMENT: Anjuman Imamia provincial secretary-general Mirza Kazim Raza Baig and Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine of Syed Ahmed Shah Mast Bukhari in Jhangara, Sehwan taluka, Dadu district, have expressed concern over encroachments upon shrine property.

Speaking at a news conference at the local press club on Friday, Mr Baig and Sajjada Nasheen Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah alleged that some person constructed a hotel and seven shops on the property of the shrine about five months back and also lodged false cases against the Sajjada Nasheen.

They appealed to the authorities to take notice of the transgression and have the shrine cleared of the encroachments.

LUMHS: The faculty of medicine, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, organized a seminar on gastrointestinal diseases on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, vice-chancellor Professor Jan Mohammad Memon said majority of the diseases could be diagnosed through endoscopy.
