KARACHI, March 26: The Sindh government has constituted Provincial Economic Coordination Committee (PECC) with senior minister for finance as its chairman.

The committee members include the ministers for planning and development, excise and taxation and revenue departments, chief secretary, additional chief secretary (development), senior member Board of Revenue, secretaries of finance and cooperation, excise and taxation, Member RS&EP, Board of Revenue, Member R&S, Board of Revenue.

The terms of reference for the committee will be to monitor the revenue collection of provincial receipts, especially the taxes on a regular basis and undertake needed policy decisions on various issues pertaining to revenue collection, including tax structures, rates, revenue collection machinery and the methodology of collection etc.

It will supervise all the on-going reform activities in the revenue departments, including the reform of AIP, automation of stamps and registration wing, restructuring of taxes under the purview of E&T department, including automation, creation of linkages etc.

It would also monitor the ADP releases and their outreach to implementing agencies within the stipulated time frame; and monitor the releases of priority expenditure. The committee will report to the finance ministry periodically. -APP
