KARACHI, March 26: Thirty-five-year-old Mohammad Ali, who had seven children and worked at three places to make ends meet, allegedly committed suicide in the Firdous Colony union council office on Friday, police said.
They said that Mohammad Ali, who worked at the union council office, had burnt himself to death. They said that a councillor of the area, Rasheed Ahmad Ansari, called in the police after seeing flames leaping out of the building. They said that only Ali used to have the key to the union council office.
The police said that Ali, whose body had 100 per cent burns, was first taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and then shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where he died two hours later. Police said that Mohammad Ali was a resident of Liaquatabad No 6.
SHOT DEAD: Mohammad Zahid, 30, was gunned down outside his house in Old Golimar on Friday. The Pak Colony police said they were looking for Qadeer, who had been nominated in the FIR. They added that Zahid left a father, three brothers and two sisters.
BODIES FOUND: Police found two bodies in different areas of the city on Friday. A decomposed body of a 30-year-old man was found at a deserted room over a water tank at the KMC graveyard in Saeedabad. Police said that the man had been killed at least 12 days ago.
In Majeed Colony, Quaidabad, police found the bullet-riddled body of Ali Abbas inside a taxi. Abbas was the driver of the taxi, whose owner lived in Jacob Line, the police added.
