Chinese defence team in Lahore

LAHORE, March 25: Chinese Defence Minister Gen Cao Gangchuan arrived here on Thursday. Gen Gangchuan, who is also the vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and State Councillor, is leading a 22-member delegation.

Lahore Corps Commander Lt-Gen Shahid Aziz and other senior officials of the garrison received the delegation. The members of the delegation remained with the corps commander for sometime and discussed with him matters of professional interest.

Later, the Chinese team visited the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal and laid a wreath to pay homage to the poet-philosopher of the East. They also visited Badshahi Mosque where they were apprised of the history of the monument. -APP
