BAHAWALPUR, March 25: The ruling coalition is still undecided about the awarding of a party ticket to any potential candidate for NA-190 (Bahawalnagar 111) bypolls.
This is despite of the fact that the candidates are required to produce their respective party tickets to the returning officer by Saturday (tomorrow) for the allotment of election symbols.
It is learnt that infighting among the party leaders and the keen interest shown by some highly placed government officials have caused a delay in awarding of the party ticket.
The political activities remained hampered for some days due to the litigation between Ms Shahida Sattar Laleka and Tahir Cheema. Now, with the decision of the court in favour of Tahir Cheema, Ms Shahida might loose the advantage she was enjoying earlier.
However, both candidates are vying for the PML-Q ticket and, for this purpose, their supporters are reportedly shuttling between Lahore and Islamabad to approach the men at the helm of affairs.
Ms Shahida Sattar has reiterated that she will contest the bypolls and that she is not scared of the resignation of Tahir Cheema both from his party and the tehsil Nazim slot.
