KARACHI, March 25: The University of Karachi on Thursday changed the schedule of BS Third Year Physiotherapy Annual Examination 2004. According to the new schedule, paper of Pathology will be held on March 27 , Community Medicine on March 31, Medicine-I on April 5, Surgery-I on April 10, P.T. Treatment-I on April 14 and paper of Electrotherapy-I will be held on April 19 at Urdu Department of Karachi University.

The practical exams will be held at the School of Physiotherapy, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The viva of Electrotherapy will be held on April 26 and that of P.T. Treatment on April 28. Meanwhile, the university announced the schedule of BS Fourth Year Physiotherapy Annual Examination 2004.

According to the notification issued in this regard, theory exam of Research Methodology will be held on March 29, Ethics and Administration on April 3, Medicine-II on March 7, Surgery-II on April 12, P.T. Treatment Hydrotherapy and Clinical Practice-II on April 17 and paper of Electrotherapy and Actinotherapy-II will be held on April 21 at Urdu Department of Karachi University.

The practical exams of P.T. Treatment Hydrotherapy and Clinical Practice-II will be held on April 27 and Electrotherapy and Actinotherapy-II on April 29 at the School of Physiotherapy, JPMC.

MBBS EXAM: The University of Karachi, on Thursday, announced that examination forms of First Professional MBBS Part- A Supplementary Examinations 2004 will be accepted till March 31 with a total fee of Rs1,500.

The examination forms from regular candidates of MA Annual Examinations 2003 (for both fresh and failure candidates) will be accepted at their respective colleges from March 24 to April 7 along with Rs500 as late fee.

KU POLLS: Prof (Dr) Abdul Qadeer and Prof (Dr) Sohail Barkati have been elected to the syndicate of Karachi University from the constituency of the senate.

A spokesman for the university said that the polling was held at the arts auditorium on Thursday. In all, he said, there were eight candidates in the run for the two seats.

SEMINAR: The Sociology Department of Karachi University in collaboration with the City Welfare Office will hold a seminar on "Population pressure resulting in social conflict" at the university's arts auditorium on March 29.

Sindh Population Welfare Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh will be the chief guest. KU vice-chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim Siddiqui will preside over the seminar. Renowned scholars and professors will present their research works on the topic. More than 500 students and guests are expected to attend the seminar. -PPI/APP
