LAHORE, March 24: India won their first-ever one-day series in Pakistan after winning the deciding fifth and final One-day International by 40 runs at the Qadhafi Stadium on Wednesday night.

Pakistan, who were chasing a target of 294, were all out for 253 in 47.5 overs after losing six wickets for 96 runs by the 24th over.

Despite fighting knocks by Shoaib Malik (65) and wicket-keeper Moin Khan (72), who put on 99 for the seventh wicket to raise hopes of an unlikely victory, it was too late against a mounting asking rate.
