SUKKUR: Four policemen arrested

SUKKUR, March 23: Four police officials of the Ghauspur police station were arrested following the escape of two criminals from a lockup on Tuesday. The criminals who escaped were identified as Naimatullah and Hazaro Oghahi, booked in several cases of murder and robbery. They had been arrested few days back.

Jacobabad DPO Din Mohammad Baloch ordered the arrest of the four policemen, head constable Shafi Mohammad and constables Ghulam Haider, Imdad Hussain and Abdul Jabbar, who were on duty.

BANDIT'S BODY: The body of a bandit, Mohammad Panah Teghani, who was killed in an exchange of fire with villagers in the Khan Mohammad Chachar village on Sunday, was recovered by police from a forest in Garhi Tegho, Shikarpur, on Tuesday.

KILLED: One person was killed and five others were injured in firing by 10 persons in the Sher Mohammad Jatoi village near Khanpur, Shikarpur, on Monday. Mohammad Malook was on his way to his brother's house when 10 armed persons opened indiscriminate fire on him, killing him on the spot.

Zarina, Liaqat, Papoo, Mehmood and an unidentified person were injured. The injured were taken to a Larkana hospital.

HOUSE TORCHED: Unidentified persons torched the house of Nazar Mohammad Shaikh in the Waloo Mahar village near Ghotki on Monday night.

LAID TO REST: The body of Yakoob Khan Pathan, the manager and close relative of PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani, was laid to rest in Garhi Yasin, Shikarpur, on Monday night.

Yakoob Khan had been killed allegedly by Brohi tribesmen. Activists of political parties and social welfare organizations and others attended his Namaz-i-Janaza.
