KARACHI, March 22: Relatives of PPP's murdered MPA Abdullah Murad and residents of Siddique Goth staged a protest rally outside the Sindh Assembly on Monday.

The protesters, who were chanting slogans against the government for failing to arrest killers of Abdullah Murad, accused the government of abetting criminals. They also chanted slogans against the MQM leadership.

Speaking to the protesters, the leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly, Nisar Khuhro, said the people would not let the government get away with the murder of Mr murad and vowed to continue struggle until the culprits were apprehended.

He deplored the police refusal to register an FIR by Murad's relatives and said that efforts were being made to take up the matter with a court of law. He also deplored lawlessness in the country.

MMA: Later, MMA activists from Kashmore staged a protest outside the assembly against the alleged highhandedness of the local administration and the MAN of the area.

They chanted slogans against the Kashmore administration and demanded its removal, saying that it had become subservient to the MNA and was working to protect his interests only.

The MMA parliamentary leader in the assembly, Nasrullah Shaji, Hameedullah advocate, local leader Abdul Hameed Bijarani and others alleged that their supporters were being implicated in false cases and that they were not being allowed to work freely.

They vowed not to be cowed down by such tactics and demanded that false cases should be withdrawn. The protesters adopted a resolution condemning government's apathy towards development works in Kashmore and marched upto the Karachi Press Club before dispersing.
