HYDERABAD, March 22: The classes at Sindh University were suspended on Monday following a clash between the Jeay Sindh Students Federation and the People's Students Federation-SB in which a student was shot at and injured.

The clash broke out when a group of students tried to boycott classes to protest against the murder of their man in Karachi while the other group resisted the move.

Mustafa Mughal of the JSSF received bullet injuries in his leg and was admitted to the Liaquat University Hospital. It might be recalled that two days back, the Sindh University Teachers Association had adopted a resolution condemning the misbehaviour of some miscreants with the students of commerce department of the university.

The teachers had demanded that strict action should be taken against the miscreants. The Jamshoro police had reportedly detained some students but they were later released at the intervention of some university teachers. The situation at the campus remained tense.
