KARACHI, March 19: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement organized a Mushaira on Thursday in connection with its 20th founding anniversary celebrations. The theme of the Mushaira was unity among the people of Sindh. It was presided over by the well known poet, Mohsin Bhopali.

As he was not well, he initiated the proceedings by reciting his verses after which Khalid Alig presided the rest of the programme. Leading Urdu and Sindhi poets recited their verses. Altaf Hussain addressed the gathering before the mushaira.

Those who graced the occasion included Firoz Burhanpuri, Khurshid Iqbal Haider, Farooq Abdi, Akhtar Saeedi, Qaisar Wajdi, Imtiaz Saghar, Haider hasnain Jalees, Parveen Haider, Rehana Roomi, Arif Shafiq Arif, Umeed Fazli, Ehsan Kakorvi, Zakia Ghazal, Yusuf Shaheen, Rashid Anwar, Prof Khurshid Khawar Amrohvi, Gulnar Afreen, Ahmad Naveed, Naqqash Kazmi, Hameed Shaheed, Aqil Barelvi, Athar Shah Khan, Javed Qureshi, Khwaja Rafiq Anjum, Saleem Kausar, Dr Sahar Ansari and Manzar Ayubi.
