KARACHI: High achievers in Cambridge, Ed excel exams awarded

KARACHI, March 19: As many as 53 candidates from different educational institutions of Sindh-Balochistan region were awarded certificates, shields and medals on Friday for achieving good scores in Cambridge
or Edexcel international examinations conducted last year.
The British Deputy High Commissioner Hamish St. Clair Daniel handed over the awards to candidates, some of whom not only excelled among candidates of their respective region but also topped in the country.
The high achievers of O/A/AS level exams from Karachi also included some of those who remained top high achievers in the world. Mr Daniel appreciated the candidates for their distinctive performance and remarked that Pakistani students were not only competing the world over but their intelligence were also being recognized internationally.
The Director British Council, Karachi, Charlie Walker, said that the council had initiated different programmes with an objective to develop understanding between youth in Pakistan and the UK.
The top achievers, who were awarded at the ceremony on Friday, belonged to 11 institutions including one from Quetta. According to the lists issued by the British Council, the names of high achievers are as follows:
TOPPED IN KARACHI: Cambridge O level - Razvi Sayyeda Zehra Anwar, Shamsuddin Shaikh, Maryam Taufeeq, Hamna Zubair, Sabrina Irshad, Muneeba Akhlaq, Jawadur Rehman, Syed Zaid Bin Rashid, Shayan Nazimuddin Rajani, Ahsen Amir Ali Roodani, Javeria Farooqui, Madiha Salam, Jaimala Dhirani, Mirza Mansooruddin Ahmad, Salim Sikandar and Zohaib Moti. Cambridge A level - Rushna Raza, Roomasa Channa, Talha Kamal Anwar, Mariam Mohammad Ali Suleman, Zainab Maklai, Haya Emaan Zahid, Sabahat Salahuddin, Sarmad Ahmad Shaikh. Edexcel O level - Mohibur Rehman Raja, Nazneen Akram, Sehrish Naseem Ahmed, Mehreen Siddiqui, Moiz Siddiqui, Aabeeya Salman, Muhammad Owais Usmani, Madiha Rizwan Lakhani, Ahmad Abdullah Khan, Sophia Suri.
TOPPED IN PAKISTAN: Cambridge O level - Mohammmad Zohaib Naeem, Mirza Mansooruddin Ahmed. Edexcel O level - Aiman Zaki and Aabeeya Salman. Cambridge AS level - Insiya Hussain, Maheen Hassan and Raheel Ahmed. Cambridge A level - Syed Imran Ali Shah, Zahra Hashmat, Maira Kamal, Roomasa Channa, Hafsa Ahasan and Nida Anwar.
TOPPED IN WORLD: Cambridge O level - Zawar Munawar Saleemi, Asma Hamid, Farheen Masood Baghpatee, Shaikh Zubairuddin Nizam, Mirza Omair Baig, Danyal Hussain, Hamna Zubair, Samuel Abid Nunee and Naira Saeed. Cambridge A level - Saba Shaikh.
