HYDERABAD, March 18: Government secondary school teachers continued their boycott of class IX and X examinations here and other parts of interior of Sindh on the last day of the examinations on Thursday.

The teachers have also pledged to boycott the practical examinations and assessment of answer copies as well as election duties. A protest meeting was held in Government Hopeful High School, which was addressed by the district president of Government School Teachers Association, Muhammad Safar Memon. Later, the teachers took out a procession which terminated at the local press club.

Speaking on the occasion, the district general secretary Zamir Khan announced that the struggle of the teachers will continue till their legal and genuine demands have been accepted.

He said instead of resolving the problems of the teaching community, the government was complicating the problems and destroying the educational atmosphere.

He said if the government was really interested in the future of students as it was propagating then it should resolve the genuine problems of the teaching community.
