WASHINGTON, March 16: US Federal Reserve policy-makers on Tuesday held short-term interest rates unchanged at a 1958 low to spur economic activity and escape a three-year jobs rut.
Federal Reserve chairman Alan Green span and his colleagues voted unanimously to freeze the federal funds rate, which banks charge each other overnight, at a 46-year low of 1.00 per cent. -AFP
