Army troops withdrawn from Quetta

QUETTA, March 14: The Balochistan authorities withdrew army troops from Quetta on Saturday and handed over the city to Frontier Corps personnel. People during 12-hour relaxation in curfew on Sunday witnessed that FC personnel, instead of Army troops , were sitting in the pickets established in the troubled areas.

Sources said the decision of Army troops' withdrawal from the central areas of the city was taken on Friday night and FC men were deployed to avert any untoward incident.

But a contingent of Army personnel will stay in the city as precautionary measures. People remained busy in their business and other activities during the curfew relaxation hours.
