KARACHI, March 13: A round-table consultation in connection with the Sindh Education Programme will be held at a local hotel on March 15 and 16. The moot, which will also review the overall developments and progress made in the education sector of the country , is being organized by the Sindh government in collaboration with Unicef and the Asian Development Bank.

Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar will chair the inaugural session of the moot.

Federal Education Minister Ms Zobaida Jalal will speak on the education policy of Pakistan at the session.

Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Khan Marwat and Chief Secretary Dr Mutwakkal Kazi will also speak.

Sindh Education Secretary Ghulam Ali Pasha will present the welcome address.

Meanwhile, a senior official of the provincial education department, referring to the reforms in education sector in the last few years, said that these reforms, which were designed indigenously, had now matured to an extent, where it was important to review the major issues, policy, targets and progress, already made with the overall objective of refining the existing policy, and the strategy in the light of the programme performance.-APP
