Poor attendance in practice tie

LAHORE, March 11: A poor public response was witnessed in the warm-up match between Indian and Pakistan-A at the Qadhafi Stadium on Thursday. There were hardly 100 fans in the morning whose number grew but did not cross 700 as the game progressed.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had fixed Rs 75 for entry tickets and assigned the sale to a foreign bank. But in view of the poor response the tickets were also made available at the stadium's booths on Thursday but the attempt failed to attract a good number of spectators.

" We, first decided not to allow the entry of fans in the stadium due to the security concerns, but later decided to open the gates for public through ticket and it is possible the delay in announcement is one of the reasons of poor response," PCB chief executive Ramiz Raja said.

The PCB had announced the decision on Sunday but could not publicise it in a proper way. The strict security measures were taken and there were police barriers at every entry point of the Nishtar Sports Complex.
