JACOBABAD, March 10: Two brothers were killed in an armed attack over a family dispute in the Noor Mohammad Shah village in the Garhi Khairo area on Tuesday. Five assailants forcibly entered the house of Hamzo Khan Buledi and opened fire as a result Anwar Ali, 29, and Murad Ali 45, died on the spot.

Their father has lodged an FIR against Niaz Ali, Sukhio, Ghulam Sarwar and Naimatullah, all by caste Buledi, with police which shifted the bodies to a hospital for autopsy.

KILLED: A girl, Latifan, 15, was shot dead by her brother, Abdul Hameed, in the Vashdal Khan Nindwani village, near Kandhkot. Latifan and her brother exchanged hot words. Later the accused opened fire at her with a pistol as a result she died on the spot.

Her father has lodged an FIR against his son with the Karampur police. Meanwhile, a boy, Abu Bakar Banglani, 14, was killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in Abdul Hameed Banglani village near Thul.

He was on his way when Ashiq Ali with some accomplices attacked him with sticks and axes. Later, the accused injured his wife, Rasheeda, 24, and shifted her to an undisclosed place. The Karampur police have not registered the case till the filing of this report.

WATER SUPPLY: Protest movement against city municipal administration has been called off on the district Nazim's assurance that local water supply scheme will be made operative by the end of this month.

This was said by Jacobabad Shehri Ittehad chief Akram Abro at a press conference here on Tuesday. Mr Abro said that the decision had been taken by the members of the citizens' alliance after a detailed briefing given by the district Nazim which was also attended by Taluka Nazim Mumtaz Jakhrani, DCO Mohammad Juman Jamro, the consultant, project director and contractors of the water scheme.

According to the Nazim, he said, water pipelines would be laid after March 20 and 2.7 million gallons of water would be daily supplied to the residents by July 15.

He further said that it had been decided that a three-member committee, comprising Dr A.G. Ansari, Amir Bux Bhatti and Mohammad Alam Khoso, would supervise the scheme.

ACCIDENT: Two persons were killed and 15 injured in an accident in the Bahoo Khoso area near Thul on Tuesday.

A Solangi family was coming from Pat Feeder, Balochistan, to Khair Mohammad Khoso village, Thul taluka in a truck. The truck overturned near Pir Shakh, killing Zeenat and her 8-month-old son Barkat and injuring Khanzadi, Sat Bai, Sarfaraz, Gullan, Sakina, Shoukat, Bijar, Sahiran, Bostan and others.
