KARACHI, March 8: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has evolved a new marketing strategy aimed at enhancing revenue generation for the national carrier and to facilitate ticketing and reservation procedures with the induction of Boeing 777-200 ERs in its fleet.
In order to implement effectively the new policy, PIA has revamped its marketing department throughout its domestic network, a PIA spokesman said here on Monday.
The positions of three field general managers of Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh have been abolished. Consequently, district managers will be responsible for their respective areas/territory and will report to the head office directly.
General Manager (Punjab) Talat Omar has been reassigned duties as General Manager Investigations (North). General Manager Balochistan, Salman Javed will relinquish additional charge as General Manager Balochistan and continue working at head office as General Manager, Passenger Sales.
The changes in the marketing setup have been made to meet the new challenges ahead. The new marketing plan envisages route re-structuring, flight rescheduling, start of operations of Houston and Shanghai from May this year and increase in the number of flights to UK and India. -APP
