Lawlessness in Sindh condemned

HYDERABAD, March 8: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Sahibzada Shabir Ansari has demanded dismissal of the federal and Sindh governments for their failure to control law and order in Sindh.

Speaking at a party workers meeting here on Sunday, he condemned the murder of Sindh Assembly member, Abdullah Murad Baloch, and said when the federal government was weak and incompetent such murders did take place.

He said the year 2004 was the year of general elections and urged the party cadre to prepare themselves for the general elections. He said it was the need of the hour that the exiled former prime minister Nawaz Sharif should return to the country.

The meeting adopted a resolution demanding the dismissal of federal and provincial governments and appointment of a caretaker government at the centre headed by the chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Rafique Lodhi, Shaikh Mohammad Sharif, women wing leader Raeesa Rehman and others spoke on the occasion.

CATTLE PENS: A meeting held at the Shahbaz Hall here fixed May 1 as the last date for shifting cattle pens from Hyderabad city, Latifabad and Qasimabad to the new cattle colony.

DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed, who presided over the meeting, asked taluka municipal administrations to issue notices to cattle owners in their jurisdictions to shift their animals to the cattle colony on the Tando Mohammad Khan Road. The owners will be given 15 days relaxation if case of emergency.

He said if the owners did not meet the deadline, their cattle would be confiscated under 144 of CrPC. He further asked the municipal administrations to arrange trucks and labour for shifting the cattle from their areas and provide required facilities like water and grass.

The DCO said the Latifabad TMA and the cattle colony administration should establish camp offices at the colony and ensure the availability of plots. He directed the DO, education works, to submit a detailed report about available facilities at the cattle colony and give suggestions for solving problems, if any.

Mr Syed said he would visit the cattle colony and city areas to hear problems of cattle owners and residents. He said the district government was determined to provide neat and clean atmosphere to the people.

The EDO, planning and finance, Syed Sikandar Ali Shah, EDO, works and communication, Habibur Rehman Memon, Hyderabad City Taluka Nazim Moinuddin Shaikh, cattle pen owners, Latifabad TMO, DO, education works, and other district officers attended the meeting.
