LANDI KOTAL, March 3: Some unidentified Afridi tribesmen kidnapped on Tuesday night an army man and injured another in Sheen Kamar area of Bara tehsil, sources said.

The two army sepoys from the Army Engineering Corps were posted at a primary school established by the Pakistan Army some eight months back. It is learnt that an unknown number of armed Afridi tribesmen barged into the newly-established school on Tuesday night and tried to abduct the army men.

The army men resisted kidnapping and during the scuffle one of them, Abdul Aziz, was severely injured and his colleague Mohammad Tariq was taken on gunpoint to an unknown destination, the source said.

The Khyber Agency political authorities have arrested around 15 tribesmen of Ziauddin Zakhakhel tribe and also impounded six vehicles of the tribe. However, they failed to find any clue to the whereabouts of the kidnapped army man. Injured Abdul Aziz was taken along by army officials.

ONE KILLED: One person was killed and his son and a nephew were injured in an armed clash when a rival group mistakenly tried to snatch their pick-up near Bara on Tuesday.

Gul Miran had a dispute with his rivals in Malikdinkhel area. On Tuesday, he and his family members blocked Bara road to kidnap his rival. In the meantime, Habibullah with his son and a nephew came in a pick-up.

Gul Miran and his group tried to stop them and fired upon killing Habibullah on the spot and injuring his son Mohammad Saeed and nephew Javed. The accused fled from the scene after committing the crime.
