Tourists get stuck on chair lifts

By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Feb 29: A large number of tourists, who had gone to Murree, got stuck on chair lifts for over four hours due to a power failure on Friday.

The tourists said they had gone to Patriata to enjoy a ride on the chair lifts but were left hanging in the air, some frighteningly high, for over four hours. They said the lift operators had no backup power supply system.

"The power went off at 4pm and was restored at a little after 8pm. It got dark and cold and the women and children were in a miserable and helpless condition," they added. They demanded of the authorities concerned to order the chair lift contractors to install a backup system for power supply.
