DADU, Feb 29: The Federal Minister of Industries and Production, Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi, has said that State Cement Corporation which always reported a loss in the past , has shown a profit after Thatta Cement Mills earned Rs 48 million in profit, which was a record.

He was talking to newsmen at his residence in Dadu town on Sunday. He said the private sector would be involved in establishing a Textile City in Karachi for the textile industries.

He said that Dadu Sugar Mill, Piaro Goth, would be privatized soon by the Sindh government and in this regard he had talked to the Sindh governor and chief minister.

Replying to a question he said Rs 30 million worth of machinery was stolen by thieves, and he had directed the DPO of Dadu, Ali Akbar Bhangwar, to recover the machinery from the thieves. He said that the Sindh Chief Secretary and IG Sindh should constitute enquiry committees to investigate this matter of stolen machinery.

Replying to a question about the involvement of police in the theft of machinery he said that he was unaware who were involved in the machinery theft of Dadu Sugar Mill, Piaro Goth, but it should be recovered.

Speaking about the development of places of historical significance in Sindh for tourism, he said that the Sindh chief minister had released millions of rupees for the development of Gorakh Hill Station. He said that after the development of the Gorakh Hill Station the main projects would be completed and local people would benefit.
