ICC's ruling on Shabbir delayed
By Our Sports Correspondent
LAHORE, Feb 28: The International Cricket Council(ICC)'s ruling on Pakistan paceman Shabbir Ahmad's bowling action has been delayed because the game's governing body did not receive the accurate footage from the New Zealand TV channel.
A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said on Saturday that the footage received by the ICC had no similarity with the reports of umpires Darrell Hair and Billy Bowden who referred Shabbir's case to the international body after watching him in the fifth ODI against New Zealand in last month.
The official said that Sky Sports channel, which was covering the series, would send related footage to the ICC.
If the ICC endorsed the umpires' report after watching the footage, Shabbir would be given six weeks to rectify hisbowling action.
The PCB, however, is already doing the needful. The official said that Shabbir is scheduled to return home on Sunday from Australia after rectifying his bowling action from the coach Daryl Foster.
