ISLAMABAD, Feb 28: As many as 567 male and female volunteers from educational institutions have completed training to act as protocol personnel during the forthcoming 9th SAF Games.

Director Protocol 9th SAF Games Secretariat, Khalid Rashid Lodhi, said that teachers and students from various schools and colleges of federal capital have been selected to perform duties as protocol perso nnel during the 9th SAF Games.

All the selected volunteers have been trained by the officials of SAF Gams Secretariat, Police and Foreign Office, he added.

He said the volunteers will be attached with all the participating contingents right from the time of their arrival at the airports of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, or at other entry points, till the conclusion of the Games and their departure for home.

The volunteers will provide all required information to the contingents during their stay in Pakistan.The volunteers will also be on duty to guide the par ticipants to their seats etc. during the opening and closing ceremonies.

He said all the participating contingents will display different colour cards on their luggage on arrival to differentiate and identify each contingent.

He said special centres will also be set up at the entry points in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Wagah border and Torkham border to receive the guests.

He said a special bus service will also be run to take the players and officials from one venue to the other or back to their lodges.

To a question, he said tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies will be priced at Rs2,000, Rs500, Rs100 and Rs50 only.

However, he said, there will be no tickets for actual competitions.-APP
