By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Feb 28: The first meeting of the board of governors of the Air University here on Saturday gave approval for studying the feasibility of establishing institutes of modern sciences in collaboration with Higher Education Commission.

The meeting was presided over by board chairman Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, the Chief of the Air Staff.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate of Public Relations Pakistan Air Force, the meeting also reviewed the progress made by the Air University and deliberated on its future course of action with a view to bring the university at par with leading international universities.

Earlier, Vice-Chancellor Air Marshal Qazi Javed Ahmed in his report highlighted the progress of the university since its inauguration in June 2003.

The first batch of engineering and management students has reached the fourth semester. The vice-chancellor informed the board that the university was not restricted to the Air Force wards only, rather it pursued broader national goals of providing quality education to all at an affordable cost.
