LoC fencing denounced

ISLAMABAD, Feb 26: The representatives of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Kashmir and Pakistan chapter on Thursday denounced the LoC fencing and demanded immediate end to it.

The condemnation came at a meeting, which reviewed the latest developments on Indo-Pak as well as the Kashmir front. The meeting was presided over by the APHC convenor, Farooq Rehmani. "The LoC is a ceasefire line and cannot be turned into a permanent boundary", Mr. Rehmani said.

He urged the UN for necessary action on the matter. APHC also condemned the forthcoming parliamentary elections of India and termed it farcical.

The participants highlighted the plight of the prisoners being held in Indian jails and accused Indian authorities of violating human rights by mistreating them. "India and Pakistan cannot solve the problem of Kashmir without involving the Kashmiris in talks", he maintained.
