KARACHI: Muttahida observes mourning day

KARACHI, Feb 25: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Wednesday observed a day of mourning throughout the province to deplore the brutal murder of the daughters of party activists in Memon Goth, Malir area.

Two minute silence was observed at Nine Zero and other sector offices of the party and ghaibana Namaz-e-janaza was offered. Hajra and Sassi, daughters of MQM activists Bashir and Gulsher in Memon Goth, were kidnapped four days ago and were brutally murdered and their dead bodies were thrown near Gaddap police station.

MQM activists, as a mark of solidarity with the bereaved family wore black arm bands. Banners deploring the murder were hoisted at different party offices and its allied wings.

While Quran Khwani was held at Nine Zero and other places, MQM coordination committee members, provincial ministers and elected representatives visited the residence of the deceased girls and assured their parents and other family members that every effort would be made to nab the culprits and give them exemplary punishment.
