KARACHI: KU declares MBBS results

KARACHI, Feb 24: The University of Karachi on Tuesday announced the results of MBBS First Professional (Part-A) annual examination-2004, with a pass percentage of 86.46.

As many as 650 students took the examination, out of which 562 were declared pass. Results of the candidates bearing seat nos 15106, 15314, 15472, 15927, 15931, 15932 and 15935 were withheld for want of enrolment, a KU notification said.

Sana Zia, seat no 15564, and Bushra Ajaz, seat no 15400, both from the Dow Medical College, secured first and second position respectively. Nasreen Muhammad Saleem, seat no 15152, of the Jinnah Medical College secured third position in the merit list.

PhD, MPhil DEGREES: The Board of Advanced Studies and Research, University of Karachi, has approved award of degrees to three PhD and 14 MPhil candidates. The successful candidates for PhD are; Musarrat Jabeen (International Relations), Choudhary M Shafiq (Zoology) and Naeem Butt (Pharmaceutical Chemistry).

The successful candidates for MPhil degrees in Pharmacology are, M Rizwan Ahsraf, Abdul Mannan, Gulshan Ara Jalbani, Manzoor A Unar, and Fateh Muhammad, while for Biochemistry, Fakhra Sultana, Mujtaba Farooq, Shamsul Arfeen and Hassan Ali were qualified.

For Physiology, Sikandar Ali, M Shakeel and S Wajid Abbas qualified, while for Microbiology, Zulfiqar Ali and for Pharmaceutical Chemistry S Asad Iqbal qualified.
