MULTAN, Feb 23: Karachi-based off-spinner Irfanuddin claimed four wickets as Multan scored 235 for five on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy fixture against Quetta at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Irfan, who played in the 2002 ICC Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand, justified his selection as a guest player with the wickets of Nazir Ahmed, Yasir Arafat Junior, Aqeel Arshad and the prized scalp of Multan skipper Aamir Bashir.

Aamir, the leading scorer in the Patron's Trophy when he led Pakistan Customs this season, was bowled by the youngster for just 22 runs. Yasir top-scored with exactly 50 while Nazir and the left-handed Saeed Anwar Junior each contributed 44. Irfan ended the day with four for 94 in 34 overs.
