HYDERABAD: MMA seeks harmony during Muharram

HYDERABAD, Feb 23: The leaders of Hyderabad and Kotri Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Monday visited Imambargahs in Kotri, Site area and Bhitai Colony and spoke at a public gathering at the Abul Fazal Al-Abbas mosque.

Maulana Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Allama Altaf Al-Hussaini, Nizamul Haideri, Maulana Mohammad Zaman Khan, Moazzam Shah Jehanian, appealed to the people to maintain peace, unity and harmony during Muharram. They also demanded the release of Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi.

MINI TAXI WORKERS: The Mini Taxi Workers' Union announced on Sunday that it would stage a motor rally here on Feb 26 from the Bacha Khan Chowk to the press club.

The information secretary of the union, Faiz Qureshi, in a statement said the rally would be held to protest against the entry of local buses in the city, encroachments, decrepit condition of roads and illegal recovery of parking fees.
