KARACHI: Girls' education stressed

KARACHI, Feb 23: Sindh Women Development Minister Dr Saeeda Malik has said education of women and girls was a prerequisite for national development. Those countries achieved success who educated their women and ensured their economic empowerment, she said while speaking at a Naat and Qirat competition held at the Sir Syed Girls College on Monday.

She viewed that female teachers played an important role in girl students' training and shaped their destiny. She said the girl students would become doctors, teachers and pilots to lead the country towards prosperity and expressed hope that girls would emulate Ms Fatima Jinnah.

On the occasion, she announced Rs50,000 donation for the college. EDO, Raees Alvi, District Officer, Haroon Rasheed and Principal Barjees Siddiqui also spoke. -PPI
