Four more women fall prey to Karo-kari

SUKKUR, Feb 21: Four women were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in separate incidents in upper Sindh during the last 48 hours ending on Saturday evening.

Koonj was shot dead by her husband, Abdul Hameed Bakhrani, in Rahim Bakhrani village, Jacobabad district, on Saturday.

Her father, Ghulam Hyder Bakhrani, has lodged a case with the Tangwani police.

In another incident, Momin Ali Chandio killed his wife, Zarina, 23, in Channa Mohalla, Jacobabad, on Saturday.

The police said that on returning home, Momin saw his wife sitting with his cousin, Raja, which prompted him to kill her while his cousin escaped.

Haleema, 24, was shot dead by her husband, Abdul Ghaffar Kandhro, in Allah Rakhio Kandhro village, Sukkur district, on Friday.

Abdul Ghaffar suspected that his wife had illicit relations with Bhoro Kandhro on which he shot her dead and, later, surrendered before the Dubbar police.

Our Khairpur correspondent adds: Wazeeran was killed by her husband, Shaman Oad, in Kamal Gabol village near Khairpur on Friday night.

Later, the accused surrendered at the A-section police station.
