QUETTA, Feb 21: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf has said that some people are trying to mislead the people on the Gwadar seaport project by saying that the project will imbalance the demographic ratio.

Speaking to the National Defence course trainees here the other day, the chief minister said that the project would be a boon for the people of the province as it would ensure prosperity and progress of the province by generating economic activities in the area on a massive scale.

He said that some elements were creating doubts in the minds of the people.

Referring to the National Finance Commission, he said the federal government had been informed of the financial constraints the province had been facing.

Jam Yousuf expressed the hope that the province would get the funds required for its development.

About the repatriation of Afghan refugees, he said according to the a policy framed by Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the UN organization for refugees, the refugees were returning to their homeland.
