Training programme for CBR officials

Published February 22, 2004

ISLAMABAD, Feb 21: The Central Board of Revenue has initiated a broad-based training need assessment (TNA) across all functions to improve the skills of tax officials.

Member, Human Resource Development (HRM), Zafar Aziz Osmani, said the training was necessary both at the headquarters and field formation level for all critical employees involved in the reform process.

He said in due course of time the board would also be setting up a cross functional committee to ensure a consistent institutional approach for identifying priorities and maximising cooperation and coordination between various line and functional units.

Mr Osmani said as a first step, the HRM was initiating the TNA based on the skills and competencies identified through the specific job descriptions evolved and signed recently for over 93 per cent of CBR employees across Pakistan.

Accordingly, in consultation with officers of relevant groups, HRM identified 41 positions that have a higher priority for the TNA exercise, he added.

The member said that the form could be downloaded from the CBR website.

The complete form might be submitted to all HRM field officers by March 9, 2004.
